Lanjaron
A gentle walk to get the week started. We take full advantage of the abundance of water in the area, walking along the network of paths created by the water channels. The fields are alive with the beautiful spring colours of wild flowers. A picnic lunch along the walk. Dinner in the evening is at the hotel restaurant.

The Poqueira Gorge and Pueblos Blancos
A short drive to the village of Capileira and we begin today’s walk along the Poqueira Gorge with great views of the highest mountain on mainland Spain, El Mulhacen. A contrasting walk with varied views along the valley, the sound of rushing water from the river Poqueira, a ruined village, Golden Orioles in Spring and many interesting local features. We stop for lunch at one of the typical Moorish villages that line the Poqueira Gorge. Dinner in the evening is at the hotel restaurant.

Los Cahorros de Monachil
It’s time to move on and say goodbye to Lanjaron as we head towards Granada. A short drive takes us to a spectacular walk along the Cahorros de Monachil. A real gem that includes walking across the hanging bridges that span the spectacular gorge and river Monachil, walking through the throat of the river with 150 ft high limestone walls that then open up to rolling meadows of wild flowers. After lunch at the best restaurant in Monachil you are taken to the Hotel Dauro in the centre of Granada with a free afternoon to enjoy the sights of Granada that include the barrio Albaicin, the Jewish quarter of El Realejo or the sunset over the Alhambra Palace from San Nicolas viewpoint.

Alhambra Palace
A holiday to Granada is not complete without a visit to the world famous Alhambra Palace. Your visit includes entrance to the Nazaries Palaces, the Palace of Carlos V and the Generalife Gardens. After a free afternoon to explore through the labyrinth of narrow lanes of incredible charm we say adios to Granada and head for La Posada Morisca on the edge of the natural park of the Sierra Almijara, where you stay for the last 3 nights.

Axarquia and the Sierra Almijara
An area blessed with high summits, dramatic crags, deep ravines and dozens of springs all in an area consisting of 3 mountains only 10km from the coast. Today we follow a great little walk along the Rio Cajula starting at the millhouse and continuing along a delightful oleander lined stream passing ruins of old farmhouses. After a stop for lunch we return to the comfortable surrounds of the hotel to enjoy a drink on the balcony looking down the valley at the sea below. Free evening to explore the charms of Frigiliana.

Axarquia and the Sierra Almijara
An easy to moderate walk with beautiful countryside, stunning views and great food. What more can you ask for. Farewell dinner in the evening.

Departure Day
After breakfast your hosts will personally take you to Malaga airport after a very enjoyable tour of Andalucia.
